Dunnington Parish Council

Cemetery

When in 2011 it became clear that Saint Nicholas Church Graveyard was running out of space the Parish Council realised that a new cemetery was required in the village for the residents of the Parish.

Following extensive work to find an appropriate site, a suitable field was purchased by the Parish Council in Eastfield Lane, Dunnington.

The new cemetery which is built to modern standards is owned and managed by the Parish Council and has landscaped grounds which offer a quiet and peaceful resting place for loved ones.

The cemetery has its entrance on Eastfield Lane at its junction with Stockhill Close. It is primarily for the residents of the parish but if non-residents apply for a plot the Parish Council would give careful consideration to the application. There are both plots for burial and interment of ashes available and it is possible to reserve plots in advance. There are sufficient on-site parking spaces for up to 15 private vehicles.

We will work closely with your chosen funeral directors but all interments must be done by Abbotts Memorials of Knaresborough who have exclusive rights.

A plan of the cemetery, the costs and associated Rules and Regulations can be found on the Publications page.
