Dunnington Parish Council

Road Studs Replacement: A166 Stamford Bridge Road

City of York Council will be undertaking road studs replacement work, which will require an overnight road closure between the lay-by at Noddle Hill and Gate Helmsley, on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd October.

The road closure is required in order for works to be undertaken safely in the middle of the carriageway. The required road closure will be effective between the hours of 8pm and 5am (weather permitting). This is to ensure that health and safety is maintained for local residents / businesses, the travelling public and the contractor. Site staff will be on hand to advise and assist with access restrictions, whilst the works are ongoing.

Notification boards marking the extent of works have been placed on site.

All on-street parking will be suspended for the duration of the works, but specific access requirements can be arranged by speaking to the site Traffic Management Operatives, who will coordinate with residents (and business requirements) around the ongoing work operations.

Household waste and recycling collections will take place as normal.

Emergency services will be permitted through the works in any situation. However, please note that cyclists will be required to dismount and push their bikes along adjacent footways/verges, or in some cases, will be required to follow diversion routes.

As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption and inconvenience to the public. However, the contractor will at all times try to keep any disruption to a minimum.
