Temporary Road Closures in Dunnington

Northern Gas Networks to carry out next phase of essential upgrade work to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply in Dunnington

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out the next phase of essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers at Common Road, Dunnington.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers.

The work will start on Monday 6th December and is expected to last for approximately two and a half weeks.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

From Monday 6th December, there will be four way temporary traffic lights in place on Common Road, from the junction of Greencroft Lane to Petercroft Lane. These will be in place for the duration of the project. There will also be a small road closure in place on Water Lane, at the junction of Common Road, from 6th December for two weeks. Residents will be able to access their properties via the diversion route.

Signs will be displayed for motorists and a full signed diversion put in place.

While the majority of the work will be carried out in the street, engineers will need to access customer properties to complete the project and ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas.

For further information about the project. please contact NGN’s Customer Care Team on 0800 040 7766 or email: customercare@northerngas.co.uk.
