Dunnington Parish Council

Thank you and goodbye to Julie; Hello and welcome to Jessica

Julie Bone and Jessica Bedford

We are sure that many of you are familiar with, and may even have met Julie Bone our Parish Clerk, over the last few years. Julie has decided that it is time for a change and is leaving the role after some seven and a half years. During this time she has worked with three different Chairmen of the Council, together with many Parish Councillors. It is always sad to see someone leave, particularly as Julie has provided a sterling service to the Parish Council, and the community, despite some demanding and challenging times. Julie would like to let everyone know that she has enjoyed her time working with the Parish Council but feels that the time is right to consider her work life balance although she will be sorry to leave. Her last official engagement will be the October 2021 Parish Council meeting. We wish her well in the future.

We have now recruited a new Parish Clerk called Jessica Bedford. Like Julie, Jessica does not live in the Parish, but is not too far away. She lives in a small community, so is used to village life, with her family and dog. She comes with a local authority background working for Kirklees Council and Wakefield Council initially as a Registrar and subsequently as a Senior Registrar. We hope that this experience will be helpful when dealing with our local authority. Jessica has not been a Parish Clerk before but she is looking forward to the challenge and meeting as many people as possible. Her first official engagement will be the October 2021 Parish Council meeting when she will take over from Julie. We wish her all the best in her new role. You will find Jessica’s contact details on the Parish Council website and notice board.
